Joy From the Well

Joy From The Well

A lot happened between the triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and the crucifixion on Good Friday. It’s symbolic that as Jesus was condemned that week due to what the Jews called sin, we who are surely guilty of sin found forgiveness as Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins. The miracle of the cross is that I was guilty and deserving of the punishment, but Jesus stepped in and took my place. As the Bible says, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21 NIV)

The cross is about God’s love for us. God wants us to have an abundant life, filled with the joy of having been forgiven by God, and the assurance of salvation through His Son. Jesus says to you, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)

Ask God to forgive your sins and invite Jesus into your heart as your savior. If you do this, you will experience the joy of forgiveness and salvation. You will know the joy of Easter Sunday as Christians around the world shout “Christ is risen!”
