Student Ministry Summer Opportunity

Register NOW for Centrifuge Camp at Chowan University!!

Available to rising 7th graders up to class of 2025 seniors

The Student Ministry of Shallow Well Church will be attending Centrifuge Camp at Chowan University June 23-27.

Every moment spent at FUGE Camps is intentional. Camp programming is designed to take students out of their normal routine and place them into an environment that is focused on life-change through relationship with Christ.

Every year our team dedicates time and intention behind the development of the theme. We want students to leave camp experiencing more than a fun week and making new friends. Our primary desire is for students to leave knowing Jesus better than when they arrived.

For detailed information on the Camp's structure and program, review https://fugecamps.lifeway.com/centrifuge/.

Total cost per person is $177.  A deposit of $75 is due by February 7.  Payment can be made through online giving by selecting "Youth Fund" from the list or by check with a memo line of "Youth Fund".  We are looking for help sponsoring those students who cannot afford the cost of camp.  Please follow the same instructions if the Lord leads you to sponsor a student.  Students and Chaperones can sign up through the form that was emailed to you.  The church will cover the cost of Chaperones.  If you have questions, please contact Pastor Steve, 864-908-1367.

Sunday School for the Youth

Grades 9-12

The youth use Lifeway Gospel Project materials or specially selected subject material picked out by the Pastor.  The teachers for this class are highly educated in Biblical studies and are known for their excellent teaching skills.

Youth Group Meetings

During the school year, the Youth meet each Sunday evening from 4 - 5:30 pm unless otherwise announced.  Check the church calendar on the Home page for current meeting information.

A Major Activity Each Month for the Youth

In addition to meeting each week, the Youth have one major activity each month that may include outings such as bowling, lock-ins, pizza parties, and attending Christian music concerts like WinterJam.

Winter Retreat

Each winter, the Youth plan an out-of-town retreat like Teen Valley Ranch.

Summer Retreat

Each summer, they spend a long weekend at Fort Caswell.  The retreats give them time to study more in-depth Bible lessons, grow closer to God, reinforce what they learn from week to week in church and make permanent and lasting friendships with other Christians.

Soup-er Bowl of Caring

Each year on Super Bowl Sunday, the youth help with a church-wide project to collect money for the hungry (tacklehunger.org).  The church-at-large donate different types of homemade soups, salad, sandwiches, and desserts which the congregants gather to eat and fellowship.  Each congregant donates money for the meal which is then forwarded to local charities that fight hunger in the community. The youth set up the food buffet, serve drinks and clean up after the event.

Vacation Bible School

Each year, the Youth of Shallow Well help the adults with a VBS for the younger kids.

Operation Christmas Child - Samaritans Purse

The church collects items for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse throughout the year with an end goal of 100 shoeboxes. Mid-November the youth will meet after church on Sunday for lunch and then pack boxes. We pray over the boxes before they are sent off. Members can select to travel to Charlotte to work at the Samaritan’s Purse distribution center where the boxes are finalized and mailed.

Christmas Caroling to the Homebound

Along with adults, the children and youth visit our homebound members at their homes to sing Christmas carols and visit.
