Youth Activities

Sunday School for the Youth

Grades 9-12

The youth use Lifeway Gospel Project materials or specially selected subject material picked out by the Pastor.  The teachers for this class are highly educated in Biblical studies and are known for their excellent teaching skills.

Youth Group Meetings

During the school year, the Youth meet each Sunday evening from 4 - 5:30 pm unless otherwise announced.  Check the church calendar on the Home page for current meeting information.

A Major Activity Each Month for the Youth

In addition to meeting each week, the Youth have one major activity each month that may include outings such as bowling, lock-ins, pizza parties, and attending Christian music concerts like WinterJam.

Winter Retreat

Each winter, the Youth plan an out-of-town retreat like Teen Valley Ranch.

Summer Retreat

Each summer, they spend a long weekend at Fort Caswell.  The retreats give them time to study more in-depth Bible lessons, grow closer to God, reinforce what they learn from week to week in church and make permanent and lasting friendships with other Christians.

Soup-er Bowl of Caring

Each year on Super Bowl Sunday, the youth help with a church-wide project to collect money for the hungry (tacklehunger.org).  The church-at-large donate different types of homemade soups, salad, sandwiches, and desserts which the congregants gather to eat and fellowship.  Each congregant donates money for the meal which is then forwarded to local charities that fight hunger in the community. The youth set up the food buffet, serve drinks and clean up after the event.

Vacation Bible School

Each year, the Youth of Shallow Well help the adults with a VBS for the younger kids.

Operation Christmas Child - Samaritans Purse

The church collects items for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse throughout the year with an end goal of 100 shoeboxes. Mid-November the youth will meet after church on Sunday for lunch and then pack boxes. We pray over the boxes before they are sent off. Members can select to travel to Charlotte to work at the Samaritan’s Purse distribution center where the boxes are finalized and mailed.

Christmas Caroling to the Homebound

Along with adults, the children and youth visit our homebound members at their homes to sing Christmas carols and visit.
